That's taken from the window of my truck going 80 mph. Everything in this picture is actually standing straight up and down.

sniser, what are you trying to do? drive us to suicide?

I can't believe the one in the bottom left reading "Thank God for 9/11"

The other three are enough to make me want to personally kill those people, but that one...it just boggles my mind.

Come on! Flip the bird and take a break.. be PROUD! You're now in the eye of the storm, but you still needn't fear anything but fear itself.

Say we were in the Star Wars universe. Progressives are the rebel alliance--ragtag, struggling, but still mounting a fight. The Galactic Empire of conservatism is extremely strong, so much that it looks unbeatable on all counts. There was a point when we had nothing against them. They have nicer ships and shinier soldiers than we have. But, with this election, we learned that we don't stand a chance against them if we fight wars the old way. By embracing new ways of combat, we were able to blow up the first Death Star. Of course, we didn't wipe the empire out, and there was another Death Star three times the size being built halfway across the galaxy, but we weren't thinking about that quite yet. Little steps. Blow up the Death Star, down some AT-AT walkers, find a power shield and dismantle it, etc. Find new ways to fight and win battles. Regroup and reconfigure. Did the Rebels give up in Empire Strikes Back when shit was seriously not in their favor? No. They united with small fuzzy creatures and found a way. As will we.

Quote

"All voting is a sort of gaming, like checkers or backgammon, with a slight moral tinge to it, a playing with right and wrong, with moral questions; and betting naturally accompanies it. The character of the voters is not staked. I cast my vote, perchance, as I think right; but I am not vitally concerned that that right should prevail. I am willing to leave it to the majority. Its obligation, therefore, never exceeds that of expediency. Even voting for the right is doing nothing for it. It is only expressing to men feebly your desire that it should prevail. A wise man will not leave the right to the mercy of chance, nor wish it to prevail through the power of the majority. There is but little virtue in the action of masses of men"

There are numerous pictures many of you would enjoy. Click on the one with Bush holding those long-distance-seeing-thingies. (look like they're working really well for him!)

The caption under the picture at the top of the page is sad. Roughly translated it reads: An American military doctor holds an Iraqi [baby] girl in his arms, who's mother died in cross-fire.

Ein amerikanischer Militärarzt hält ein irakisches Mädchen,
dessen Mutter im Kreuzfeuer starb,
in den Armen
