Your New Year's Eve

I'm very boring.
For the past decade or so I've stayed in on NYE, and for the past few years have developed a new ritual with my wife of attempting to watch a trilogy of films over the course of the evening.
In recent years, we've done Indiana Jones and Back to the Future, for example.
Tonight, it's the Matrix trilogy, which I haven't watched since they first came out - I wonder how they're going to hold up. I suspect not well.
Also, spoiler alert - I'll fall asleep mid way through the second one and we'll have to finish the session tomorrow night.
What about you, what does your NYE look like?

It's not the houses, it's the spaces between the houses.

If I don't have a party or gig to be at, I'll generally just stay in. Time was, I'd usually be DJing, but those days are long gone. This year, however, a I've got a cold, so me and the missus are crashed out on the sofa. I just watched a YouTube video retrospective of the entire Friday The 13th film series. Good times.

Better than you might imagine. Knowing that the Wachowskis are transgender women certainly provides a different perspective to consider than it would have then.

Alright, so The Matrix was actually pretty good. Dialogue was awful, but the effects stand up pretty well and I do actually like Keanu as an actor, he always seems to do "just enough and no more" and gets out of the way of the film.
Matrix Reloaded, however, was a piece of shit. As predicted just got halfway through but was already bored of endless Agent fights. And here's a question - if the Agents are just computer programs, what's the point of punching them?
Will no doubt complete the trilogy but Reloaded is very heavy going.

i was in bed by 11 and read myself to sleep. i vaguely remember hearing some jolly neighbours being jolly and some fireworks but REALLY stood out were my dreams. they were ferocious.
primarily the one in which some fucker was trying to kill some of my friends and i. we were basically having to hide in various places to avoid the bad guy, but a couple of my friends ended up getting shot (but not fatally), and to make a really really REALLY long story short, i ended up running the equivalent of an obstacle course trying to avoid the bad guy, saw an opportunity to double back on him, wrestled him to the ground and took his pistol, pointed it at his head and... *click*. it was empty. so i flipped it around and beat him in the head with the butt of it until his head caved in. "pulpy" would be an accurate description of [the state of] what was left when i got done.
so yeah, i'm pretty sure my subconscious deals with my anger issues while i'm asleep, because when i'm conscious, i'm a fucking delight.
...but don't fuck with my friends.
note: this is the third or fourth incredibly vivid dream where i've had to [justifiably] kill someone, not including the one in which my friend killed someone and i helped her stuff the body into a tree stump in the swamp.
anyhoo, happy new year errybody!
xx

she had denied all allegations of her loneliness, that battle had been won with scars still under wraps. she may have dropped the world, but she would not let us down.

I went to bed early and for a walk the next morning, until I realized I had forgot my CF card at home, so I just grabbed something to eat. Berlin without people and most shops closed is kinda sweet in a mellow, dirty way. Would be much more interesting if New Year was in summer though.

I also went for a walk around my suburb/town on new year's day. It's very peaceful. Reminded me of 28 Days Later but with fewer zombies.
