So, I'm looking for new music, preferably something with a tune. Not too fussed about genre - I like Rascal Flatts as much as Five Finger Death Punch.

What have you discovered lately?

Counting Coins ska punk band from Hull. Fantastic live, saw them at Galtres festival a few years ago.

Ah I should have mentioned - I hate Ska with a passion I cannot describe... So I guess I *am* a bit fussed about genre!

All I remember about your music tastes (outside of the bands you've been in) is that you liked rap, and hated bands with names in the form of "The <plural noun>".

Given that, here's a handful of stuff I've liked (more or less) recently, intentionally a little all over the place in genre, though with an unapologetic leaning towards metal just because that's the bulk of what I listen to:

Thanks Kretil - I can honestly say I've not heard of a single one of those bands, although that's not saying much as I am extremely 'out of the loop' when it comes to popular beat combos.

Really, of those only Kataklysm and Aesop Rock are really big enough for most people to maybe hear of them, they're mostly just big within their respective genres. Aesop Rock gets some attention sometimes for having a notoriously large vocabulary, but really I've only heard a couple tracks by him. I'm nearly always not a fan of rap, I just occasionally hear stuff that, for reasons I rarely can articulate, catch my attention and keep it without annoying me instead. Kataklysm is just a pretty well known (again, in its genre) death metal band.

If you do happen to like any of those, mention it and I'll through some more links up. I always love unleashing a firehose of music at people who don't care to hear it.

P.S.: Let's see some stuff from you, too.
