The internet is (in theory) a global communication tool. Global inasmuch as it reaches only those parts of the world wealthy enough to have such glorious excesses as the world wide web. In actual fact, as we all well know, the internet is a disappointing pile of shit. But I digress. The internet is in theory as useful a tool as mankind has ever had to communicate with other people regardless of physical or geographical limits. Therefore, as long as someone has a computer, net access and eyes they can visit AKPCEP. The net is a great leveller, in that respect.

I am only going to say this once, so pay attention. It's really quite simple, like neurosurgery or quantum mechanics. AKPCEP exists to instigate and encourage change in society - to engineer a shift in attitudes no less. Society, simplistically defined, is people. Like Soylent Green is people. Mashed up and mixed together until you can't tell which bit belongs to which person. It also ceases to matter. No one really cares who invented the bicycle, they just know they exist and they're a form of transport that doesn't kill dolphins. Similarly, the majority of people don't care about why they feel a certain way or view an event with a particular emotion swilling around their skulls. AKPCEP is not for them, or maybe it is and they just don't know it.

Regardless, AKPCEP is here to put forward seemingly random takes on the human condition, chopping and changing, defying, defining, defiling attitudes and perceptions. The writers here may not necessarily subscribe to the points they make, but that is of no consequence. The words on the screen should be merely a catalyst serving to activate the part of your brain (should you have it) that makes you question.

You are actively encouraged to take part. In actual fact, AKPCEP is merely a framework into which humans input their thought patterns, in the hope that like dominoes, they trigger a thought in the next mind and the next mind and the next mind and so on. In this way, maybe this community can somehow glean a glimmer of hope that not everyone has to be Joe Q. Public, or toe societies line.

Of course, the real irony is, that it's a thin line indeed between an online community and an online society.
